Amid a housing crisis, Farhi’s Ridout project approved by London, Ont., council in 2021 has yet to start

After dealing with concerns about flooding, London city council in 2021 approved an application by Farhi Holdings Corp. to build a 40-storey tower on Ridout Street North at Queens Avenue. Since approval by city council, the owner has not submitted a site plan application.

A London, Ont., councillor expressed skepticism that Farhi Holdings Corp. would ever build a downtown tower approved in 2021, after an application to construct the mixed-use building and add 280 residential units to the city’s core. More than three years later, the project still hasn’t started.
