The new passport design incorporates several additional security measures, such as a Kinegram positioned over the primary photo, a custom see-through window that displays a secondary image of the passport holder, a variable laser image, and a temperature-sensitive ink feature.
The new passport celebrates Canada’s heritage and identity through seasonal-themed images of the country’s natural beauty. The redesigned cover features an outline of a maple leaf, representing the first significant change to the passport design in decades. The new passport will be rolled out later this summer, and existing passports will remain valid until their expiry date approaches.
