This Montreal street is closed to cars before and after class to keep elementary students safe

The Ville-Marie borough inaugurated its first ‘rue école’ on a stretch of Rouen Street near Jean-Baptiste-Meilleur elementary school. It’s where a seven-year-old was killed in a hit-and-run in 2022. Local traffic will still be able to park, enter and exit, but volunteers will be asking motorists to not drive any faster than pedestrians.
