Savage and her medical team pursued this high-risk approach at a prominent pediatric hospital in the United States, where doctors carried out the in-utero procedure on Theo’s developing organs. The operation aimed to reposition the intestines and establish conditions more favorable for Theo’s growth and viability once delivered.
