Canada’s largest icebreaker has reached the North Pole for its sixth visit, with its mission focused on clarifying Canada’s claim to a portion of the Arctic seafloor. The operation, conducted in mid-August, involves crews gathering on Arctic sea ice as part of the voyage aboard the CCGS Louis S. St-Laurent. The expedition’s objective centers on defining Canada’s rights to seabed areas that are also claimed by Russia and Denmark through its autonomous territory Greenland.
